Kitchen Remodel

Last week we started the process of remodeling our kitchen. It's been a very over due project, but have finally been able to do it.

It's been exciting to see the Lords hand in the details. We were originally only going to do the sink side to start, because that was the critical side. And because we only had a set amount to spend on it.

But after picking out the cabinets and seeing that the total came to almost $5000 for 5 pieces, we nearly died!! We didn't even have that to spend on the whole side, sink and counter included!

We clearly could not do that! Justin and I left the store without cabinets, but decided to use some wisdom and look into some other options (even though we were told that that was the only way to buy cabinets).

After researching it online that night, we were able to purchase our entire kitchen, 15 pieces, for a fraction of the price! And we were able to pick them up the following night!

It's definitely been a lot of WORK tearing out the old stuff, fixing the walls and painting to get it ready to install the new cabinets, but it's kinda been fun and exciting to see the change.

So Saturday justin for the first time, installed cabinets and did an awesome job! It's nice having a perfectionist for a husband, cause he took the time to make sure they're PERFECT (seriously, they're probably better than what cabinet people do)...

Thanks to YouTube, he was able to watch step by step instructions on installing cabinets, which helped a lot!

We've got the first side of cabinets installed, and now have started the demolition process on the second side... Which means, NO WATER or DISHWASHER!

Here's some pictures of the process so far.....

Life....

I saw this shirt while in Daytona. I thought it was pretty funny, cause this is how a lot of 1 1/2-3 year olds act (in my opinion)...."Spoiled" Brats would properly be the name though!

This is what "trouble" was doing, while mommy and daddy were trying to screw in a top cabinet!

It's my birthday.... It had been a veerry looonng night/morning.... Brunch anyone?? ( I don't recommend ice cream for breakfast... Sugar high!!!)

Jenni saints baby shower was last night... Very creative cake!

Our kitchen is being remodeled, so dishes in the tub work!

Moms night out

Last night a group of us moms went out for dinner and some fellowship..... It ended up being a big turnout, 11 of us moms were able to come. And for the first time, I think, there were no baby's visible (two were  expecting)! It was really nice just to be able to fellowship with others.....
Justin very sweetly watched all the kids so I could go out, and even managed to do some kitchen demolition as well!

Cardiologist

James had his first cardiologist appointment Monday, with Dr Saidi. His appointment lasted 2 hours, which I wasn't expecting, but ended up working out fine....
They did an EKG as well as an Echo on him. Everything that we knew about is still the same.
The one thing they didn't tell us was, that blood was flowing both direction through his hole, which is a big problem! But they thought it was because of the surgery, which it was (it's only flowing one direction now).
So, Dr. Saidi was happy with the report and won't need to see him for 9 months, So him next appointment won't be till next June.
He was such a good boy for both test, never even made a peep! He was watching the echo tech like a hawk, smiling every time he glanced his direction, trying to get him to smile back. It was so cute...

8th Anniversary

This past weekend, Justin and I enjoyed a couple days together for our anniversary!
It was so nice to be able to spend some one on one time with my favorite person in the whole world....
We had an awesome time together enjoying Daytona Beach area.... We were here 7 years ago, for our first anniversary too!

Justin woke up early to get these sunrise pictures at the beach...

Chick-fil-a has the best food.... Breakfast biscuit minis ( or whatever they're called) are delicious!

This was the view from our window... We were right on the beach (thanks Matt for telling us about the great "Sky radio" offer they had for the hotel)....

He slept while we enjoyed some ocean and pool time...

Our hotel...

Ponce de Leon lighthouse..... The tallest in the state, and second tallest in the country!

We had to play mini golf, it's tradition! We played here last time as well.... Justin won the first time and I won the second time.... A perfect tie on points :-)

We also went ice skating, which I'm not sure was such a good idea.... It didn't end so well..... Ouch! Btw, ice isn't very forgiving!

James 2 months old!

James had his 2 month checkup with his pediatrician and recheck with his surgeon on Wednesday. He's doing really well, which we're  very thankful to The Lord for!!!
We just have two more big appointments left, one with the cardiologist to check on the hole in his heart. And an appointment with the GI doctor to try and get his reflux meds worked out.
At James two month check up he was 11 lbs 13 oz and 23 inches long. A 2lbs pound jump from last month, which is huge for my baby's! He's such a good boy, and so sweet.
He's got the cutest cry when he thinks he's been hurt or gets startled, it's this pitifully sad cry that sounds like he's been mortally wounded( I was trying to get him to smile in the last picture and he got offended and started doing HIS cry thing)!
