Harvest Fundraiser

Every year we really enjoy going to Harvest international's "Harvest Fundraiser". It's always right around Valentines Day, which makes it an extra special event!

My Family joined Harvest International back in 1996, when we went to Haiti the third time....my Parents have been Missionary's through Harvest ever since!

Each year at the Fundraiser they have a different speaker share. This year Jim Moore from Samaritan's Purse, came and spoke..... Another cool thing they do is, each year they make a meal from different countries, which can be VERY interesting. This year the food was really good though!

Jonathan's hospital trip

Sunday evening Jonathan started having a really had time breathing. His heart was racing, his chest was sinking in a lot trying to get oxygen, he was wheezing, his nose was flaring and he was running a temperature that ibuprofen wouldn't help......

So,  Justin and I took him to Shands Pediatric ER, where till about 1am they tried several things to try to help him breath better, but ended up putting him on oxygen and admitting him into the NICU!

After 48hrs of testing and breathing treatments, we were released and allowed to come home.....apparently he had pneumonia in one lung, and aren't sure if that's what caused all the breathing issues or if he's starting to have some asthma issues as well.

The pneumonia was due to RSV that he had three weeks ago..... The beginning of March we have a follow up visit with a Pulmonologist Doctor to try to get some answers as to why this happened, and how to prevent another ER visit!

Jonathan was such a good little boy the whole time, especially considering the fact that he had to lay pretty still the whole time and really couldn't move around that much.

He was hooked up to an IV in one arm, a heart rate machine to one foot, a blood pressure cuff to the other leg and he had oxygen going in through his nose (he hated that, but let it be).

He went about 24hrs straight without sleeping, but still was very good and did what was asked of him, even when he didn't want to.....He was such a brave little Boy!

( That first 12hrs Jonathans heart rate was hitting 220, when for his age, it should only be 100-120 max....by the time we were discharged it was down to 100 though)

You can see a little how his chest was sinking in...

The first time they let him eat....broke my heart to watch him.

He loved his Helicopters that PaPa and Uncle Daniel brought him!

7 months old

I can't believe our baby is already 7 months old, where has the time gone....we love this little man with his huge personality!

James is doing well with his heart "issues" and meds are really helping his GERD/reflux problems....

He's growing quite well, weighing in at @ 19lbs and is @ 29in long..... But he's taking his time at learning to crawl and getting some teeth!

Park day

Last Saturday we took the kids to the park for lunch. On the way, we saw a helicopter land at Williston Hospital, so of course we had to go watch it take off (there was a really bad accident outside of town. We found out the next day that 3 people had died in that wreck, one a baby, not much older then James).
